Agniastra is a traditional bio-pesticide used in natural farming to manage a wide range of pests, especially sucking insects and early larval stages of lepidopteran pests. It is prepared using cow urine, neem leaves, green chilli, and garlic through a boiling and fermentation process. The mixture contains natural compounds with repellent and antifeedant properties.
Ingredients
- Neem Leaves – 5 Kg
- Green Chilli – 0.5 Kg
- Garlic – 0.5 Kg
- Cow Urine – 20 Litre
Preparation method
- Take 20 litres of cow urine
- Add 5 kg of crushed green leaves of neem.
- Add 0.5 kg crushed Green Chilli.
- Add 0.5 kg crushed Garlic.
- Now dissolve all this mixture in cow urine and boil it.
- After 3-4 boils, take it down from the fire.
- Let it cool for 48 hours and then filter the solution with a cloth.
- Now Solution is ready to spray on the crop.
Usage
- Effective against a wide range of pests including leaf-eating insects and sap-sucking pests.
- Spray Method: Dilute Agniastra with water in a 2–3% solution (i.e., 200–300 ml of Agniastra in 10 liters of water).
- Frequency:For preventive use every 15 days during crop growth stages.
- Shelf-life- Up to 3 months
