Ghanajeevamrit: Rich in Microbes, Rich in Yield

Ghanajeevamrit is the solid or dry form of Jeevamrit, prepared by mixing fresh cow dung, cow urine, jaggery, pulse flour, and soil, followed by partial drying. It serves as a concentrated source of beneficial microorganisms and organic nutrients. Ghanajeevamrit is applied directly to the soil, especially during sowing or as a top dressing, to enhance soil fertility, improve microbial activity, and support healthy plant growth. It is easy to store, transport, and use, making it an effective input in natural farming systems.

Ingredients

  • Cow Dung – 100 kg
  • Cow Urine – As required (3 Litres)
  • Jaggery – 1 kg
  • Pulse Flour – 1 kg
  • Bund Soil – Handful

Preparation method

  • Take 100 kg of well dried cow dung and spread it uniformly on ground in the form of a thin layer.
  • Add small quantity of cow urine to it.
  • Add 1 kg pulse floor preferably besan on the cow dung.
  • Dissolve 1 kg Jaggery in water and spray on mixture.
  • Add handful of rhizospheric soil.
  • Mix all the above ingredients well and make it in laddus.
  • Allow it to dry.
  • After drying crush all laddus and store in jute boras.

Usage

  • 100 Kg dried Ghanajeevamrit per acre at the time of sowing.
  • Shelf-life- This dried ghanajeevamrit can be stored for 65-75 days or upto 6 months.
